5 Digital Bible Study Resources to Check Out in 2024

By Chuck Fenwick

If you’re looking to grow your relationship with God this year, you’re likely searching for a devotion or bible study that will fit in your daily routine.

A daily devotion is typically a period of time spent reading scripture, praying or journaling, and spending time with God.

There are many resources available to guide you through this process! And if you feel like you don’t have time to squeeze in a devotion, a digital resource may be the best fit for you.

Here are five digital devotions that can help you grow closer to God this year.

YouVersion Daily Refresh

The YouVersion app has a feature that is helpful for developing a regular devotion routine. Each day, the app has new content available right when you open it called the “daily refresh.”

The daily refresh feature includes a Verse of the day, a quick 2-5 minute video with a reflection, and a 4-6 minute guided prayer. In total, this devotion takes around 10 minutes and it’s totally free.

If you’re into tracking your habits, the app helps you do that! When you open the app it records all of your stats including the daily refresh streak and a other data that helps you stay on track.

Here is what the daily refresh looks like on your phone.

Bible Project

The Bible Project offers online classes, educational videos, a podcast, blog posts, Bible study notes  and other digital resources for free on their website and their app.

If you’re looking to dig into the Bible and learn more about the content, this is a great place to learn. Their resources include how to read the Bible, various themed studies, Bible reading plans and individual book overviews.

There are multiple ways to consume the content, so you can find what works best for your routine. Whether you prefer to watch a video, read the content, or listen to audio, The Bible Project has a resource for you.

Proverbs 31

The Proverbs 31 team creates several ways to add a quick bible study to your routine each day. They offer a daily devotion on their website and on their app each day that is free to read.

Also, they have an app that is perfect for people looking to add a quick devotion to their morning rhythm. Their First 5 app provides a 5-minute devotion available to read every morning. This is a great way to incorporate a daily devotion into your life!

Proverbs 31 specializes in creating bible studies, devotions, and a podcast for women. Most of their content is free on their website and app, but they offer bible studies and daily devotions to purchase, too!

YouVersion Devotionals

In addition to the daily refresh on their app, YouVersion offers many bible study plans on for free.

You can choose to study topics such as love, anxiety, healing, or other themes throughout the Bible. Also, they book based Bible studies, too! So if you’re looking to study a particular book of the Bible, there are several options.

These studies are available on their website and their app. They typically consist of a section of scripture with a quick devotion written by their team on the topic.

The Bible Recap

If you’re a regular podcast listener, The Bible Recap may be a good fit to add into your regular rotation! There is an 8-minute episode available each day that helps break down the Bible.

The Bible Recap follows a one-year reading plan. So if you listen daily, you’ll read the Bible in one year! The episodes provide a quick summary and highlights from each day’s reading schedule.
