Gardener agrees to abide by all the following rules in the use of said garden plot: - Gardener is responsible for complete care of their garden plot, including planting, weeding, watering, aeration, harvest, and garden clean up at the end of the growing season. - Gardener will only plant what they can manage and have knowledge to take care of. - Gardener will only plant inside their plot markers. - Gardener will put all tools used back in their proper place. - Gardener’s who do not maintain their plots will be given a 10-day notice to correct the issue and properly maintain their plot. If weeds are not kept under control, the plot will be reclaimed by New Haven United Methodist Church and tilled under. - Gardener may not plant any invasive, perennial, or illegal plant species. - Gardener may not use sod staples and/or non-biodegradable landscape fabrics. This material can become problematic for NHUMC to have to remove later. - Gardener will not disturb other garden plots. New Haven United Methodist will plow the ground twice before the planting season begins for 2024. Plowing will be determined by the weather and garden committee availability. After Nov 1st, plot “ownership” will revert to New Haven United Methodist Church. Anything left in the plots after this date becomes the possession of New Haven United Methodist Church. New Haven United Methodist will take reasonable care to not damage any Gardener’s plot or crops. Nevertheless. NHUMC and its employees and volunteers are not responsible for any loss, damage or vandalism to Gardener’s plot or crops. If New Haven United Methodist Church, in their sole discretion, determines that a Gardener has violated any of the rules for the use of the garden plot, New Haven United Methodist Church may take immediate passion of the garden plot and all of the Gardener’s rights to use said garden plot will be terminated. Gardener will be notified of any such action by a letter sent in the mail and by a phone call. In exchange for registration and the agreement, New Haven United Methodist Church agrees to allow Gardener to use up to two (2) community garden plots located at 630 Lincoln Hwy E New Haven, IN. Gardener may use said plot only for the crop year 2024. New Haven United Methodist Church will be providing easy water access to water all garden plots. New Haven United Methodist Church also has a garden shed where use of community tools can be utilized. New Haven United Methodist Church does not need to provide any other amenities or services other than what is mentioned.
