Music and Drama
Music and Drama Ministries of New Haven UMC
The Music Ministries at New Haven UMC continues to grow in its outreach to various age groups, musical abilities, musical tastes and worship styles. With a smorgasbord of choices, there is something for just about everyone. If you would like to become involved by sharing your gift of music with others, please contact
Sue Sprunger, Director of Music Ministries, at the Church (749-9565).
Chancel Choir:
This choir regularly sings at the 9:45 a.m. worship service. Those who enjoy a variety of music from classical to contemporary anthems are invited to join the Chancel Choir as they
rehearse at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.
Praise Teams:
The Praise Teams offer their musical leadership during the 8:30 a.m. worship service. Teams of three to eight persons lead the congregation in singing of choruses of scripture and praise and offer special numbers in song.
Gospel Quartets/Singing Groups:
Singing groups are often organized to sing at special services and occasions. If you would like to join one of these groups, contact
Sue Sprunger.
Instrumental Groups:
Many in our church have talent playing an instrument. During our worship services and for other musical presentations, there is a need for individuals to share their special gift. Every opportunity will be given for individuals as well as groups to play so they may share their love of music with others.
Handbells:
The Handbell choir of our church inspires our worship with beautiful instrumental music and performs at various times of the year.
Drama Groups:
Drama is becoming more and more important in the ministry of the church. Dramatic presentation offer a message or open the mind to thinking about the theme of the morning in ways that are both refreshing and dynamic. Persons wishing to participate in the Contemporary Drama ministry of our church are encouraged to contact the
Church Office at 749-9565.
