Christian marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. It is more than a contract. It is a covenant in which you made not only public pledges to one another, but in which you also recognized God to be the source of your love, the one in whom your relationship to one another is grounded.

To be married in the church is to invite not only your family and friends, but God to witness, bless and confirm your commitments.

By having a church wedding, you recognize marriage as a gift from God. The entire service, therefore, from the Prelude through the Recessional, will be conducted with joyful dignity.

Since the ceremony will be conducted in and by the church, there are certain procedures and expectations you will want to bear in mind. New Haven United Methodist will be helpful as, together, we plan for this important day in your lives.
